WOW!!! Made the perfect choice when we booked Pepe for our tour. He is smart, easy to speak with and filled with historical knowledge of every place we toured. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Pepe and HIGHLY recommend him for a magical time in Segovia.

Pepe picked me up at my hotel, and our journey began the moment we walked out the door. Yes modern day Madrid has quite a history. Each street, park, building had a story to be told and Pepe was a wealth of knowledge. Hearing his voice and the way he told the history was almost like traveling back in time to the events that unfolded in each destination along our journey. I am a huge history buff and Pepe was very descriptive when helping me imagine the events that took place at this very spot. Amazing Guide. Loved! Loved! Would highly recommend. We stopped for drinks and lunch. He was a pleasure to spend the day with guiding me through the present day city with all the knowledge of the past.

The knowledge that Pepe has about the history of Toledo is mind boggling!!  From the moment he picked us up in his beautiful (clean) car he never stopped explaining the history of the Jews in this area of Spain. He knows sooooo much. Great facts, great stories all in an easy to understand beautifully accented and perfect English. Pepe was interesting, animated and had tons of passion for the subject matter which we really appreciated. Don’t miss this tour!!!

Family of 6 with young adult children had the pleasure of joining Pepe for a food and wine tour in Madrid. It was perfect. Pepe put together an amazing experience with 5 different stops. He is so knowledgeable about the local food and wine and a wonderful conversationalist. We enjoyed every minute and cannot recommend this experience enough.

I was in Europe for a month and Pepe was the best tour guide we had. He is beyond knowledgeable and can answer any historical questions with ease and passion.
We did two tours.
The Madrid highlights walking tour, all over the city was a perfect way to get to know Madrid. There were little breaks to sit down which I really appreciate as a tour I had in Seville was non-stop standing/walking in 107 heat - it was hard to retain the information. This was the complete opposite. Pepe was well thought out and planned for shade and sitting while showing us a tablet to have a visual view as well. Everything was digestible and explained in a way I was able to retain the information.
He also used humor and had amazing energy.
The next tour we did was Toledo. A beautiful medieval city outside of Spain.
Again, very well thought out. He would park the car and was considerate, even had ice waters at the end of the day. Everything was well thought out and planned.
He gave restaurant recommendations and went above and beyond the scope of the tour.
I learned more about Jewish history in these two days than I ever have before.
He's not calling it. He speaks with passion and pride.
I recommend hiring Pepe.

Pepe is an exceptional tour guide. He was professional, prompt, and courteous. His knowledge and history of Toledo was far greater than your typical tour guide. His ability to explain and tell the story of the Jewish people and their journey throughout history, specifically as it relates to Toledo was thorough and unique. He also explains the history of other religions as it relates to that period. No matter what your religious affiliation, everyone visiting Madrid should visit Toledo with Pepe.

Pepe made our trip! He took us on a full-day Jewish tour of Toledo filled with history and amazing sites. We started calling him Mr. Google because of his wealth of knowledge. His enthusiasm was perfect for our family of four (teenagers) who was recommended to us by a friend and we will definitely recommend him as well!

In mid-May of this year (2024), my family and I took a guided tour of the city of Segovia in Spain, which was one of the most memorable days of our vacation.
Pepe Alonso was our superstar guide on this excursion.
Pepe picked us up early in the morning in the center of Madrid in a spacious and comfortable car for 8 people and we headed straight to Segovia. The approximately one-hour tour seemed super short with Pepe's narration: a bit of history, trivia, current events, interesting facts and a good dose of good humor.
Segovia is a wonderful little city - declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO - that can be easily explored on foot. The highlights include the impressive Segovia Aqueduct, one of the best preserved Roman aqueducts, the majestic Alcazar of Segovia, one of the most famous medieval castles in the world, the Segovia Cathedral, known as 'The Lady of Cathedrals' for its size and elegance, the Plaza Mayor, the Jewish Quarter, the incredible panoramic views, the cobbled streets with their shops, cafes and terraces. All this and more, but the magic and pleasure of this experience was definitely having Pepe as a guide. Pepe is an encyclopedia of knowledge, stories, curious facts, palace intrigues, royal weddings, etc. A delightful and very entertaining history course. My advice is: Go visit Segovia but with a guide. Otherwise you miss out on all the wonderful content of its history. And if you go with a guide, go with Pepe. #1. Top. 100%.

Pepe was an excellent guide who made my two days with him, one in Segovia and one in Toledo, very special.
From the moment he picked me up in Madrid to dropping me off again, exhausted but happy, everything about the day was interesting (and well organized!). Pepe has a wealth of knowledge and his enthusiasm in imparting it made it fun and educational.

Even before the tour, Pepe answered our questions to make our experience in Madrid amazing. Pepe is truly a historian. We learned the most about the history and beauty of Madrid from him. We highly recommend!

Pepe picked us up on time and delivered a great tour of Segovia! He told us a lot of the history on the way so we would get the most out of our visit. We had the opportunity for lots of pictures, and we asked many questions, he answered all of them! We toured the castle. (Amazing) Walked all through downtown and learned about the aqueduct system. We found out a lot of interesting facts and the true origins of many things we did not realize . He took us to a nice local restaurant that had been there for 130 years ( we tried the suckling pig that they are famous for ) and then we returned to Madrid. If you enjoy history and learning and exploring new places, this is the tour for you. Pepe is very knowledgeable and you can tell he enjoys sharing his knowledge! Thank you Pepe for a great day!!

Pepe was great! He shared so much knowledge and we learned so much! It was a great mix of walking with stops to talk and explain. The Jewish Toledo was the highlight of our trip to Spain. Pepe was by far the most informative guide and the trip was the most interesting. Pepe was super knowledgeable about Spanish history. He is an excellent narrator with rich, eventful stories and examples. Excellent was to see Toledo.

Pepe is fantastic, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and attentive to details. We have learned a lot from his tours. We did 3 tours with him for three days. We highly recommend Pepe for anyone who is looking for a private tour guide.

We had a great day with Pepe! His knowledge of Spanish and European wines and  history is extensive, which is why we hired a private guide. We learned so much from him! The tour was perfectly paced. The wineries were impressive! We never felt rushed, or that things were moving too slowly. Pepe was a safe and courteous driver, and took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch, a local haunt off the beaten tourist path. Can't say enough great things about our tour. Highly recommended, especially if you want to have a more meaningful experience than just breezing through the usual tourist spots.

We had a wonderful afternoon touring Madrid  with Pepe. The ride was a great combination of sites and history. Our stop at the Tapas bar was a real treat. Pepe also gave us recommendations for dinners which were not touristy and a wonderful experience. We would definitely tour with Pepe again.

Great tour of Toledo. Pepe was very knowledgeable of all the important elements of Toledo. He was very thorough in describing the history of the Jews of Toledo, the Inquisition, and the Reconquista. We visited a number of important sites. We never felt rushed and asked questions throughout the tour. Highly recommended.
